Being Part of the Pom Community

Other Pom owners get it. Non-dog people don't understand why you're obsessed. Other Pom owners do. Find your people—online groups, local meetups, wherever.
Don't get weird about dog clothes. Yes, some people dress their dogs. No, it's not abuse if the dog tolerates it. Sweaters serve a purpose in winter. Costumes are just for fun. Relax.
Rescues need attention too. Everyone loves puppies, but adult rescue Poms exist and need homes. They're already trained and their personality is set. Sometimes that's easier.
Dog parties are actually fun. Throwing your Pom a birthday party sounds ridiculous until you do it. It's an excuse to see friends, celebrate your dog, and eat cake. Don't knock it.
Grief is real and valid. When your Pom dies, you're allowed to be wrecked. Anyone who says "it's just a dog" can leave. Take all the time you need to grieve.
You'll become that person. The one with the dog Instagram, the matching outfits, the phone full of photos. It happens to everyone. Just accept it now.
